School has started and stress has kicked in.
That aside, I made this journal to post a fairly minor update in regards to drawings. There are a few obstacles preventing me from getting work done and uploading by the plenty, but the only one that isn't really my fault is this: I am without Photoshop. The reason for this is that Google Chrome's form of adblock is "teh suxxorz" and TV Tropes needed to add pop-ups. (Not bashing TV Tropes; as nasty as pop-ups are, they have reasons for putting them in place.) I ran into a pop-up claiming to be from Microsoft and, alas alack, I have viruses on the computer! I must click this here button and vanquish them! And yeah.
Although I don't even recall seeing the ad, at this point I might as well assume that I had one of those fancy-schmancy lapses of judgment and fell for the scam. As a result, my laptop ended up riddled with trojans and had to be sent to a computer repair shop to be cleaned up. This actually turned out to be a good thing, since they also found that the hard drive was dying. They were able to save the data, so all was well. On the downside, I had to wait almost an entire week for the laptop to come back. Cheers for the existence of an attic computer! And jigsaw puzzles! They are all awesome.
The laptop returned yesterday with a better hard drive. (It seems to have gotten rid of some of the glitches, too.) This is good and well, but nearly every program I had installed had to be removed. Which is bad, since I'm without Photoshop. >>; (I'll be using GIMP in the meantime.) Where oh where is that CD...? I want to work on digital artwork, which is sort of out of the ordinary because I've been in a drawing slump and don't enjoy drawing on the computer that much. Absence makes the heart grow fonder?
